Israel as a country is fairly religion based and has a very deep religious history that is important today. In the Palestinian Territories, the historical and famous places to see are usually religion based. While you do not have to be a religious person, or follow the same religion as those in Palestine, imersing yourself in their culture can be quite powerful.
